Happy Easter!

Not many people get to celebrate the same Holiday twice in one year! But since the stars aligned and rays of luck beamed down, Abby got to have two Easters in one year! If you remember, we spent last Easter at the Children's Hospital, celebrating Abby's first Easter there. It wasn't spectacular, and we didn't get to go to church, but we were still blessed to be sharing it with our new little girl. Thankfully all ended well and nothing was wrong with Abby, but it was definitely a different way to spend the holiday than we had expected! But this year was much more fun! We decided last minute to go to a 'sunrise' service at a local church in Casa Grande (and I put sunrise in quotes because we didn't really get to see the sunrise. But it was still early!) It was a nice little service outside at a park, and we were even blessed to see some friends we knew- and got to share a blanket with one, since we didn't know it'd be grass seating! Oops!




After church we headed to the Esposito home for a delicious Easter lunch, celebrating with my parents as well as my grandma. It was a nice, little group with a lot of yummy food! Abby had her first Easter egg hunt at her Mimi & Papa's house, and it was so fun watching her grab at the eggs. We had filled them with quarters, nickels, and dimes and she raked in a total of $2.50 :) Her first, hard earned money! She also got an Easter basket from mom and dad, as well as Mimi & Papa. She definitely had fun shoving everything in her mouth. Thankfully, no candy made it in, but she did manage to find a random piece of dog food to suck on. Gross! (And just to put the grossness in perspective... neither us or my parents own a dog! So where did it come from?! Eww!)







It was a beautiful and wonderful way to spend our second Easter with our little girl, celebrating Christ's resurrection and his dominion over death. We are so blessed to be covered by his grace and loved so much that he would die for us. But the greatest news is this: "He has risen! He is not here."

Romans 6:8-11
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
